Goldcar Rental Group attended ITB Berlin, the world’s leading travel trade show in which 1,100 countries took part. The Alicante based company presented their plans for expansion, which began this year with the opening of five new offices: in Barcelona, at the new terminal at El Altet airport in Alicante, on Menorca and Ibiza islands. Expansion will continue with the new office soon to be opened in Faro (Portugal).
The Alicante-based rent-a-car company had a booth at the ITB where they attended current partners and made new contacts. Goldcar’s presence at the travel show was organised by TurEspaña. The mood at the meetings held with travel agencies, tour operators and brokers was optimistic about the confirmation that Germany’s travel sector began 2011 with good prospects. Owing to Germany’s economic upturn, the bookings and resources employed in travel have increased in that country. Spain is one of German citizens’ favourite travel destinations. Mallorca and the Canary Islands, where Goldcar Rental has offices, are favourite destinations. Estimates indicate that the demand for hired cars will increase considerably with the Easter holidays.
Goldcar Rental’s delegates at the ITB Berlin, lead by sales manager Andrea Turinenburg, participated at a meeting held in Holiday Autos (Holiday Expert Lounge) with travel professionals to study the travel sector’s current situation. It was evident at the meeting that foreign travel to Spain is increasing. The meeting also studied the widespread difficulties experienced in the car rental sector due to a lack of financing and customer preferences when hiring a car. Despite the current economic situation, Goldcar Rental is opening new offices and buying a new fleet to ensure customer satisfaction.
